Perfume Bottle Production Process

2019-09-24
1 cutting, grinding, engraving
Different forms of machining of the glass can be achieved with diamond, carbide or silicon carbide tools and steel grinding wheels. For crystal glass perfume bottles used to hold high-grade perfumes, the glass bottles are cut, ground or engraved with a grinding wheel. The high-finely ground glass surface can achieve a very high degree of finish. With the different angles and planes of the angle, the crystal glass surface with high refractive index under the illumination of the light will produce dispersion effects similar to aluminum and crystal lamps. Colorful, dazzling, very attractive.

2 acid polishing
Acid polishing, in contrast to the purpose of acid etching, produces a smooth, transparent surface. In the production of deep flower crystal glass bottles (or other glass products), acid polishing is often used to remove the opaque surface left by the engraving to achieve a high quality smooth surface.

For lead-free glass, an etching solution consisting of 1 part by weight of hydrofluoric acid (volume ratio, the same below), 2.5 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid and 0.5 part of fuming nitric acid can be used. For lead crystal glass, it can be treated with a solution consisting of 1 part of concentrated hydrofluoric acid, 1 part of concentrated sulfuric acid and 0.5 part of fuming nitric acid.

In production practice, glass exhibits broad adaptability to the formulation of "acid". That is to say, sometimes the formulas vary greatly, but they all achieve satisfactory results. In the production process of acid etching and acid polishing, the etching liquid should be made of a container made of lead, rubber, polybutene or the like. Because the acid etching solution is highly corrosive to human skin, the operator must wear rubber gloves. The treatment workshop should have an exhaust device, and the waste liquid should be treated with lime water.

3 frosted sand
The clear glass bottle is treated with frosting to create a flawed light effect. The character charm is unquestionable. As a light-sensing effect, the boundaries of objects are no longer distinct and easy to blend. This light effect is diffuse, soft, and feminine.it has a vague, subtle and even mysterious feeling, which can stimulate people's rich imagination.

Commonly used glass surface frosting techniques are sandblasting and acid etching. Sand blasting is a high-speed air flow that drives a surface such as silica sand or alumina to abrade the surface of the glass to achieve the effect of frosting. The part of the glass surface that does not need to be abraded can be covered with a rubber sheet. Since the surface formed after sand blasting is rougher than the surface of the acid etching, and noise and dust are generated during the sand blasting process, the acid etching method is more commonly used in the actual frosting treatment of the perfume bottle.

The acid etching method is to immerse the glass bottle in a hydrofluoric acid solution (the part not to be treated can be coated with paraffin). The rate of erosion of the glass surface and the final appearance depends on the composition of the acid, the time and temperature of the process, and the surface effects desired by the designer.

4 sets
The perfume bottle produced by the method of nesting has been used in ancient times, but it is still one of the decorative methods of modern perfume bottles. The glass of two or more colors is made into a perfume bottle by the method of producing a nesting vase or a wine set, and has a unique decorative effect. The process is divided into inner sleeve and outer jacket. Some nesting bottles are also engraved after molding, and the finished products have practical value and can also be used as crafts display. In the actual visible products, the color material is drawn into a filament and spirally wound around the bottle body. Since the glass filament winding is handmade, each product is different, which shows the unique charm of each product. .

5 color glaze decoration
Glaze decoration is the most widely used method of glass decoration, and glass perfume bottles are no exception. The most common methods of decorating glazes are direct screen printing and decals. Lesser decorative techniques include offset printing and hand-painting. The spraying method is to spray the opaque glaze on the surface of the transparent glass bottle, and after baking, the effect of opacity or frosting is achieved.

The color glaze used to decorate glass bottles is a composite lead borosilicate glass with a low softening point. Inorganic heat stable colorants of various colors can also be added as needed. In order not to affect the surface effect of the parts that are not to be decorated, and to obtain a smooth glaze surface below the softening point temperature of the bottle base glass, a low melting point transparent auxiliary flux having a high lead oxide component is used.
